Shogun Sushi
Full website design and Webflow build for a concept sushi restaurant : a homepage, about page, and menu page that highlights signature dishes, drives reservations, and holds up on any screen.
01 / Overview
Shogun Sushi is a concept project exploring what a restaurant website should actually accomplish: make a first-time visitor hungry, tell them why this place is worth a reservation, and get out of the way before they lose interest.
Most restaurant sites fail the basics slow loads, PDFs masquerading as menus, no clear call to action past a phone number in the footer. The goal was to build something that works as hard as the food is supposed to taste.
The result is a three-page Webflow site with a menu CMS the restaurant team can update themselves, a testimonials section that builds trust without feeling like a review aggregator, and a booking path that appears on every scroll position.
02 / Challenge
Restaurant websites often prioritize information over experience.
The typical restaurant website is a PDF menu, a buried reservation link, and a hero image that loads in 6 seconds. None of those things help the restaurant. The challenge for this concept was to design everything the opposite way: fast load, visual menu, a persistent booking CTA, and a story that makes the restaurant feel like a place worth visiting before the food even arrives.
03 / Approach
Food-first design, frictionless booking
The homepage leads with the restaurant's visual identity — dark, cinematic photography, minimal UI chrome so the food fills the frame. The menu page is CMS-driven with dish categories, images, and descriptions that the team can update without a developer. Testimonials are integrated in the flow, not stacked at the bottom. Every page ends with the same booking action — prominent, consistent, unavoidable without being aggressive.
04 / Outcome
A concept that proves the point
Shogun Sushi demonstrates that hospitality web design doesn't require a custom CMS or a large agency budget. Webflow's CMS handles the menu and testimonials cleanly. The visual design holds up at every breakpoint. The project now serves as a portfolio reference for restaurant and hospitality clients — proof that the aesthetic they're looking for is achievable in Webflow, at a price point they can actually reach.

Working with Ruma was genuinely one of the best decisions we made for our relaunch. She translated our Figma files into a Webflow site that felt even better than what we designed. Fast, communicative, and zero back-and-forth on revisions.
Ruma transformed our online presence into a modern website that truly reflects our brand and showcases our work professionally. The entire process was smooth, and we're delighted with the final result.
Our goal was to build our first digital presence for investors and partners. Ruma created a clear, professional website that communicates our vision effectively.
